Why would the Lord want to kill the Canaanites? All men, women, and children were to be killed. In essence genocide. Was the Lord just wanting to kill the Canaanites because, or was there a specific reason that the Lord called for the Israelites to kill all of the Canaanites?

After their victories over King Og and Sihon, the Israelites would camp in the Plains of Moab. This would cause fear in the Moabite king; so he would call in for a little help. The man he would call is Balaam. Who in the history books is Balaam?

Though the Israelites were not able to be cursed by Balaam, there was something that could be done that would cause the Israelites to become weakened. Not on the battlefield, but rather through the practice of Sexual cult rituals.

The Israelites would prepare for battle against the Midianites. Sending only 12,000 soldiers, the priest, and a few items from the Tabernacle into the field. Some would say that this would be considered a Holy War, waged by the Israelites against the tribes of Midian, the people that sought to destroy Israel from the inside out.

All that the Lord had in mind for Moses to do had come to an end. Moses led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, through the wilderness for forty years, and finally made it to the border of the Promised Land. However, Moses would only see the land from afar before his death.
